Filament Winding
Filament winding is the process of coating glass strands with resin and then winding onto mandrels with various shapes and sizes. Common filament wound parts include; tubes, tanks, springs, and elbows.
There are several advantages to using filament wound parts. They include;
  • Low initial tooling costs
  • Excellent corrosive and dielectric properties
  • Tremendous hoop strength
  • Capable of wide diameters and long lengths
  • Ability to wind in 5 axes
